Guided kite tours to three of the Dominican Republic's best spots. Pack light, we handle everything else.
KiteDR runs guided kiteboarding tours from Cabarete to three destinations in the Dominican Republic: Punta Rucia (flat-water lagoon, Puerto Plata province, approx. 2 hours west), La Boca (river mouth flat water, near Cabarete), and Buen Hombre (remote northwest coast). All tours include transport from Cabarete, equipment transport, and an IKO-certified guide. A minimum of intermediate riding ability is required.
Each tour is guided by experienced local instructors who know the water, the conditions, and the best lines. Equipment transport included.

A two-hour drive west of Cabarete, Punta Rucia sits on the edge of Isabela Bay, one of the most pristine stretches of coastline in the DR. Crystal-clear, shallow water over white sand makes this ideal for flat-water tricks, downwinders, and just soaking in the scenery.

Just a short ride from Cabarete, La Boca is where the Yásica River meets the Atlantic Ocean. The mix of fresh and salt water creates unusually flat conditions, perfect for working on technical riding without the chop of the open ocean.

The most remote of our three destinations, Buen Hombre sits on the northwest tip of the Dominican Republic. Fewer kitesurfers, more wind, and an authentic local village that hasn't been touched by mass tourism. A proper adventure for riders who want something different.
Equipment hire available if you don't have your own kit. Ask us when booking.
A minimum intermediate level is required for all tours. You must be able to ride upwind in both directions and handle your own launches and landings safely. La Boca suits intermediates, Punta Rucia suits intermediate and advanced riders, and Buen Hombre is best for confident, experienced riders.
Every tour includes transport from Cabarete, equipment transport, an IKO-certified guide, safety equipment, local route knowledge, and session photos. Equipment hire is available if you do not have your own kit.
Approximately 2 hours west of Cabarete by road, in Puerto Plata province. The drive along the north coast is part of the experience.
No. All tours require a minimum intermediate riding ability. Complete the 9-hour beginner course first, build your confidence on Kite Beach, then join a tour. There is no shortcut to riding safely in open-water and remote conditions.
