Please read these terms before booking a lesson, tour, or making a purchase.

1. About KiteDR
KiteDR is a kiteboarding school and tour operator based on Kite Beach, Cabarete, Dominican Republic. By booking a lesson, tour, or purchasing from our shop, you agree to these terms.
2. Bookings and Payment
All lessons and tours are booked by contacting us via the website contact form, email (team@kitedr.com), or WhatsApp (+1 829 537-4030). Bookings are confirmed once we have agreed a date and time in writing. Payment is accepted in USD by cash or card at the time of the session unless otherwise agreed.
3. Cancellations and Rescheduling
- Wind cancellations: If conditions are unsafe or unsuitable for your level, KiteDR will reschedule your session at no additional cost. Cabarete rarely has extended windless periods, particularly December through August.
- Student cancellations: Please give at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule. Late cancellations (under 6 hours) may incur a fee at our discretion.
- No-shows: Sessions missed without notice may be charged in full.
4. Health and Safety Requirements
All students must:
- Be comfortable swimming in open water
- Disclose any medical conditions that could affect their safety in the water before the session begins
- Follow all instructor instructions at all times
- Wear provided safety equipment (helmet, impact vest) for every session
KiteDR reserves the right to refuse or end a session if a student is deemed unfit to participate safely, without refund.
5. Minimum Age
The minimum age for junior lessons is 7 years old, subject to a minimum weight of approximately 40 lbs (18 kg). Adult lessons have no strict minimum age but students must be able to follow instructions independently. A parent or guardian must be present for the first session of any junior student.
6. Risk and Liability
Kiteboarding is an adventure sport that carries inherent risk of injury. KiteDR takes all reasonable precautions to minimise risk, including IKO-certified instruction, appropriate equipment, and staged progression. By booking, you accept that KiteDR cannot eliminate all risk and that you participate at your own risk. KiteDR is not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in lessons or tours, except where caused by our own negligence.
7. Equipment
All equipment provided by KiteDR is maintained to a safe standard. Students must not tamper with, modify, or misuse equipment. Damage caused by negligence or deliberate misuse may be charged to the student.
8. Tours
All kite tours require a minimum intermediate riding ability (able to ride in both directions and ride upwind). KiteDR reserves the right to refuse a tour booking or end a tour if a participant's skill level presents a safety risk to themselves or others. Tour schedules depend on conditions and local logistics; KiteDR will reschedule where possible if conditions are unsuitable.
9. Shop Orders
Merchandise is fulfilled by Printful and shipped to the address provided at checkout. Delivery times vary by destination. Returns and exchanges are handled in accordance with Printful's returns policy. Digital goods are non-refundable once delivered.
10. Photography
KiteDR may photograph or film sessions for use on our website and social media. If you do not consent to being photographed, please inform your instructor before the session begins.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Puerto Plata province.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
