Already riding? Coached sessions to improve your upwind, transitions, jumps, and kite loops. One-on-one, filmed, and specific to your level.
KiteDR offers supervised coaching sessions for intermediate and advanced kitesurfers in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. Sessions are run one-on-one by IKO-certified instructors on Kite Beach. Lead instructor Bryan Betances Martinez holds active IKO certification and runs coaching sessions tailored to your current level and specific goals, whether you want consistent transitions or are working towards kite loops.
Both tiers are one-on-one sessions with an IKO-certified instructor. Equipment hire is available.
You can ride but something is holding you back. Edge control, upwind riding, or confidence in stronger winds. In-water coaching with real-time feedback while you ride.
Structured progression for riders targeting jumps, kite loops, and handle passes. Filmed every session so you can see exactly what needs fixing.
Every session follows a simple three-stage structure so your time on the water is focused and productive.
Your first session starts with a short water assessment so your instructor can see your current riding level and identify the highest-priority areas to work on.
You ride, your instructor coaches. Radio helmets allow real-time communication while you are on the water. Sessions are filmed for post-session review.
After each session you review footage together and agree on what to practise before your next session. A written training plan is sent after your first session.
Intermediate sessions suit riders who can already ride in both directions but want to improve specific skills: upwind riding, edge control, consistent transitions, or confidence in stronger winds. If you completed a beginner course elsewhere and want to continue progressing, this is the right starting point.
Advanced sessions focus on structured jump progression, kite loop technique, handle pass introduction, and unhooked riding. Sessions are filmed so you can review your technique. A personalised training plan is produced after your first session. Drone filming is available as an optional add-on.
Equipment hire is available. If you have your own gear, bring it. Your instructor will also advise on whether your current equipment suits the progression you are working on.
This depends on your starting point and the skill you are working on. Most riders see measurable improvement in 2 to 3 supervised sessions when combined with independent practice time between sessions.
Jump and kite loop training typically needs 18 to 25 knots. Cabarete's trade winds provide these conditions reliably from December through August. Your instructor will confirm conditions are suitable before each session.
