KiteDR offers kiteboarding equipment hire on Kite Beach in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. Hire is available to riders who have completed an IKO-certified beginner course and can ride independently. The team is on the beach to help with setup and to advise on the right kit for the day's conditions.
If you completed your beginner course with KiteDR, our team already knows your level and can get you set up quickly. If you trained elsewhere, we will do a brief water check on your first hire session to confirm your riding ability. This is a safety step, not a test.

Equipment hire is available to riders who have completed an IKO-certified beginner course and can ride independently. You do not need to have completed your course with KiteDR, but you should be able to demonstrate basic independent riding ability. Riders who completed the KiteDR beginner course can hire equipment on the same day as sign-off.
KiteDR has a range of kite sizes suitable for different wind conditions and rider weights, twin-tip boards, harnesses (seat and waist), helmets, and impact vests. Your instructor or the team at the beach can advise on the right kite size for the day's conditions and your weight.

No. Equipment hire is restricted to riders who can demonstrate IKO beginner level riding ability. This is a safety requirement. If you have not yet completed a course, the beginner lessons package is the right starting point.
Equipment hire includes the kite, bar and lines, board, harness, and safety gear. A brief equipment check with a KiteDR team member is included before your session to make sure everything is set up correctly for your size and the day's conditions.
